The Spiral creates a new class of eco-tourism, bringing scientists and vacationers together to understand our planet’s least known environment. In addition to using vertical axis wind turbines, electricity is also harvested by solar means. In addition, the underwater nacelle functions both as periodic generators when the structure is anchored and as hunters for thrust when the Spiral is in full swing. The first two levels of the vortex are devoted to circulation, community gatherings, restaurants, and commerce. The intermediate levels accommodate long-term residents, ocean experts, hotel guests and crew members. The deepest levels are dedicated to a scientific observatory for oceanographic exploration.
